The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) joins a proud nation and an elated people in extending warm congratulations to the Amazon Warriors cricket team on their stirring and decisive victory at the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 tournament. Indeed, like many Guyanese, the GAWU believes the victory is well deserved and long overdue. We are heartened to recognise the outstanding performance of all players and officials whose collective efforts contributed to the successful outing this year. Indeed, the victory at Providence last evening cemented the slogan “this is we year”.
The GAWU remains heartened, too, by the coming together of our people from all walks of life to support the Warriors. Indeed, we believe the outstanding and spirited support of the Guyanese people has also lent to the successes recorded and the victory realised. We also salute the efforts of the Government, led by His Excellency President Irfaan Ali, which has spared no effort to a well-organised Guyana leg of the tournament.
Once again, the GAWU and its thousands of members spread throughout Guyana extend congratulations to the Warriors.
