The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) extends warm greetings to all Guyanese, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, on the occasion of Youman-Nabi.
Youman-Nabi commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is a day of prayer, reflection, and celebration, a time for families and communities to come together.
As a national holiday, Youman-Nabi reminds us of Guyana’s rich diversity. The occasion promotes values of peace, unity, love, and compassion, principles that strengthen our multicultural society.
GAWU, which represents many Muslim workers across Guyana, joins in this celebration. The Prophet’s life teaches us patience, charity, and forgiveness. His example reminds us that even in difficult times, we must choose kindness over anger.
In today’s world, these lessons are more important than ever. We are grateful for the peace we enjoy in Guyana and for the contributions of our Muslim community to our nation’s development.
As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to unity in diversity. May this Youman-Nabi bring peace, joy, and blessings to all.
Happy Youman-Nabi to everyone!
